Student Module – MEDMS/Infinite Campus State Edition Training

The MEDMS Student module has been replaced by the new Infinite Campus State Edition (ICSE) application for school year 2008/09 updates. Users must attend a Webex training class (see below) before being given access to the State Edition. Information on how to logon to the new system will be provided during training and will be posted on the project portal.

The MEDMS/Infinite Campus State Edition will be online September 2nd for the 2008/09 school year student enrollment reporting. All existing State Student IDs will remain the same and IDs for new students will be generated by the State Edition.

Due Date:

October 1, 2008 Student Count – all students should be enrolled by October 1, 2008 so that review and final verification can take place by October 15, 2008.

Changes for 2008/09:

The Student Personal and Enrollment upload schemas have been changed for 2008/09. Please check with your student information system vendor to make sure you have the latest file formats. The new schemas are posted on the project portal at http://support.infinitecampus.com/maine/pages/home-page.php.
LEP Program Data can now be uploaded as part of the Enrollment file.
Student Contact information can now be uploaded as part of the Student Personal file.

Training (Required):

Infinite Campus is providing two types of training sessions for the new system:

Direct Entry – for those school units that manually enter student data into MEDMS.
File Upload – for those school units who upload files from their local student information systems (SIS).

Training classes are delivered via Webex sessions that can be accessed from your desktop using a standard web browser. After enrolling you will be sent the Webex login information and conference line phone number. The classes are scheduled to take no more than two hours and will be offered multiple times throughout the fall starting in September.

Information on how to register with Infinite Campus University (ICU) and sign up for a training class is posted on the project portal at http://support.infinitecampus.com/maine/pages/home-page.php. You can download a copy of the Maine Webex class schedule from the ICU website but you must login to register. Please only select classes from the Maine WebExes course listing.

Please note that you must initially register with ICU to set up a user account before you can sign up for a class. As soon as you receive an email confirmation from ICU (within 24 hours) you can sign up for any of the available classes on the schedule. The confirmation emails come from ICU@infinitecampus.com so please make sure that the email address is not blocked by your email spam filter.

All users who require access to the Student module must sign up for the training. Attendance lists from each training class will be sent to the MEDMS help desk for assigning access rights at the school or district level.

Practice Website

A link to a State Edition training version will be posted on the project portal at http://support.infinitecampus.com/maine/pages/rollout-training/medms-training-site.php and will be available for users to access after completing the training. Please make sure you do not enter any real names or data when using the practice site.
