NECAP Test Administration Information

2nd Annual NECAP Online 8th Grade Writing Pilot
Coming in March/April 2012
Participation is limited to 20 new schools, so sign up now!

Middle schools that did not participate in last year’s pilot test of the NECAP online writing system may volunteer to take part this year. Students at successful schools may participate in the October 2012 NECAP grade 8 writing test online.

October 2011 Test Information

Test Administration Window: The 2011-12 NECAP test administration window is October 3-25, 2011.

Test Content: The test will include reading and mathematics sessions for students in grades 3 through 8. There will also be writing sessions for students in grades 5 and 8. The test questions are designed to assess the NECAP Grade Level Expectations, which can be accessed by clicking on “NECAP Standards (GLEs)” in the column to the left.

This sample answer booklet is the copy used at grades 5-8. Grades 3 and 4 booklets are integrated test/answer booklets, so the mathematics response box size varies somewhat, but in general the short answer spaces are slightly bigger than the sample shown. Reading answer boxes are the same size, but the space between lines is bigger, resulting in 15 lines.
