Mission Statement

The Mission of the State Board is to provide policy leadership that promotes a Maine public school system whose graduates will have the skills and knowledge to be college-ready, career-ready, and citizenship-ready.

To fullfill this mission and its statutory requirement, the State Board of Education provides recommendations to the Executive and Legislative Branches of State Government.
