Case Manager, Part C: Birth through Age 2

Full time Speech Language Pathologist to be a part of a team of dedicated people working with our youngest citizens (children birth to five) with special needs.  The candidate should be able to do evaluations to determine eligibility for services; develop programs to improve a child’s skills; provide direct service; and consult with parents, classroom teachers and other providers as part of a team. We would consider someone not yet fully licensed with the right training and background.

Case Manager, Part B: Age 3-5 - (Calendar Year Position)
A Case Manager assists parents and their children aged three through five to access the procedural safeguard and services that are authorized under Maine’s special education system. They work as a part of a team to meet the requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004 (IDEA) for Part B and Maine Unified Special Education Regulations, Chapter 101. Experience in early childhood or early childhood special education required. A 282 (B-5) teaching certification is preferred.

Educational Technicians
The person in this position is responsible for the supervision of children assigned to him/her.  Additionally this person will review and implement learning previously introduced by the Classroom Teacher or Teacher of Disabilities B-5. Must have a working knowledge of child development, disabilities, family systems and special education methods and have the ability to interact with a wide variety of people and provide individual and group services in a variety of settings and models. Must obtain and maintain authorization as an Educational Technician in accordance with Chapter 115 of the Maine Department of Education.

Case Manager (3-5)
Full time position. We are looking for a case manager to be a part of a team of dedicated people working with our pre-school aged children (three to five) with special needs.  The candidate should have a 282 certification endorsement; be organized, able to work with a variety of people; and able to meet strict federal guidelines.

Experience doing assessments, developing IEPs, facilitating meetings, keeping detailed documentation and contact logs and an understanding of Maine Unified Special Education Regulations is preferred.  We would consider someone not yet fully licensed with the right training and background.

Occupational Therapist
Child Development Service of Aroostook County has an opening for an Occupational Therapist to serve as part of a team of colleagues to evaluate and provide treatment services to children birth to five years old.  Children under three are seen in their natural environments, while school aged children (three to five) are seen in an educational setting. A state of Maine Occupational Therapist license and certificate of clinical competence are required as well as successful background, criminal records, fingerprinting and reference checks. The position will be opened until the right candidate is found to serve on our team.

Physical Therapist
Child Development Service of Aroostook County has an opening for a Physical  Therapist to serve as part of a team of colleagues to evaluate and provide treatment services to children birth to five years old.  Children under three are seen in their natural environments, while school aged children (three to five) are seen in an educational setting.  As part of a child’s IFSP/IEP team, you would also consult with others so that the child is being given similar expectations across settings.

A state of Maine Physical Therapist license and certificate of clinical competence are required as well as successful background, criminal records, fingerprinting and reference checks.

Speech Language Pathogist
Need experienced therapist to work with children (birth to 5 years old) with disabilities.  CCC-SLP to evaluate and provide therapy in Knox County.  Some travel to children’s home or educational setting required.  Position to work full or part-time Monday thru Friday. 

Educational Technicians (2 positions)
Position #1: Rockland pre-school classroom, 22 hours per week, Tuesday thru Friday.  Will be responsible for assisting lead teacher in preparing classroom materials; facilitate both new learning and reinforcing learning previously introduced; model positive language and behavior skills for children and families.  Requirements: two years post secondary education and pre-school experience required, working knowledge of child development, disabilities, family systems and special education methods.

Position #2
Rockland pre-school classroom, 12 hours per week, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday mornings.  A team teaching model is in place with consultation from speech and motor therapies.  Please see above for requirements.
