Maine Advisory Council on the Education of Children with Disabilities

The current membership of the Maine Advisory Council on the Education of Children with Disabilities wrapped up its work for this year on Friday, April 27, 2012. The Commissioner of Education, in consultation with the Governor, is reviewing and revising the membership to ensure compliance with federal membership and appointment requirements.

The work of the two federally required advisory bodies will resume in September, following the completion of the appointment process.

The Department of Education is committed to full compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and its regulations, and to securing a broad range of expertise and geographical representation for advice on providing services to children with disabilities in ways that help to fulfill the vision of the Department's Strategic Plan for education of all students in Maine.
