For Lobbyists

Maine's lobbyist disclosure program is administered by the Ethics Commission. Every lobbyist in Maine must file a joint registration with the lobbyist's employer (client), and file monthly reports detailing the lobbyist's activities during that month and compensation received. After the legislative session is completed, the lobbyist may request a waiver of the requirement to file monthly reports. The Commission maintains lists of registered lobbyists, lobbyist compensation, and state employee legislative designees.

Maine law also contains restrictions on lobbyists' campaign contributions and gifts to Legislators.

For more information on these requirements, please read the Lobbyist Guidebook and Lobbyist Disclosure Law or telephone the Ethics Commission at (207) 287-4179.
