Maine Youth Excellence in Art Project
To celebrate excellence in visual art by Maine youth, the First Lady of Maine, madam President of the Senate, Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Maine Arts Commission, the Maine Alliance for Arts in Education, and the Maine Art Education Association have partnered to collect and display artworks created by Maine's young artists. Exhibitions are displayed within the Blaine House, the State House, the Maine Cultural Buildings, and other state buildings being shared by the Governor, Legislators, State agencies, and the people of Maine.
This voluntary program is offered to all public, private, and alternative school students throughout Maine. Art educators are encouraged to work with their local State Senators and Representatives to arrange transportation of the artwork to and from Augusta. The Maine Youth Excellence in Art Project is made possible by its generous sponsors: MBNA, LL Bean, National Semi-Conductor, Peoples Bank, and Ms. Lisa Gorman.
