Review of status of PUC's web application
The PUC and OIT are working to an agreement through the DOU (Document of Understanding) process to understand the scope of the project and the amount of work required to implement. When that document is final the group would like to review the contents and look at the security issues. Agreement is expected by the end of May.

MaineDOT has requested use of the application through a security connection over the WAN as a way to streamline the process of notifying utility companies of road projects.

The group agreed to use this project as our way to understand the lessons PUC is learning with regards to data handling, the timeliness of data and usability of the formats of the data from various sources.

We also discussed using this project as a potential way to get other agencies involved hopefully being able to educate other programmers and DBA's in other agencies.
Update on ArcIMS agency project data form
Matt Howe is working on development. The goal is to have agencies test the new form by having them enter updated information regarding their ArcIMS projects into the new database. When Matt is ready for testing he will send the URL to the test group.

We discussed adding a link to the page that would allow users of this form to send updated contact information regarding their particular agency. Dave Kirouac agreed to send a new request for agencies to update GIS contact information.
Other discussion items:
Review of subcommittee goals. A link to the recommendations was sent to the IMS sub-committee and the committee will review them at the next regular meeting. http://apollo.ogis.state.me.us/executive/executive.asp?ecpage=sub

GeoLibrary update - $100,000 to Web Portal RFP
Data download tool in the works at MeGIS to provide "clip, zip and ship" functionality

MaineDOT in conjunction with MeGIS is working on creating a municipality based directory of what spatial data is available and who to contact at the municipality for the data. This directory will be hosted by MeGIS and available over the WAN.

The committee is interested in reviewing the tracking of the connections to ArcIMS by agency. The committee also expressed interest in talking with a developer regarding the lessons learned from developing ArcIMS applications using Freeance. Understanding the ArcIMS AXL security issues with regards to login. MeGIS would like agencies to come forward with types of ArcIMS web services that the agency may be interested in. (Is there a need for an Address Geocoding Service?)
