Immunization Registry

  • Meaningful Use and Immunization Information Systems - The Stage 1 Meaningful Use immunization objective is satisfied by submitting test immunization messages to the State Immunization Information System, ImmPact2.  The ImmPact2 system is capable of receiving HL7 2.3.1 test messages from Electronic Health Records (EHRs), through an information broker, or by direct entry into the ImmPact2 web validation tool.

Electronic Laboratory Reporting

  • Meaningful Use and Notifiable Condition Reporting - Electronic Laboratory Reporting (ELR) has been promoted as a Public Health priority for the past several years.  Maine CDC has partnered with HealthInfoNet to facilitate the adoption of ELR for the State of Maine.  Laboratories can work with Maine CDC and HealthInfoNet to determine the reportable conditions to be sent to Public Health, the format of the messages being transmitted (Meaningful Use requires an HL7 2.5.1 message), and the transport mechanism to be used.

Syndromic Surveillance Reporting

  • Meaningful Use and Syndromic Surveillance - Syndromic Surveillance reporting is also given as a Public Health reporting option for Meaningful Use.  Although Maine CDC has a robust Syndromic Surveillance system, it does not currently have an appropriate message transport system compatible with Meaningful Use requirements.
