Allagash Stream SurveyFISHERY INTERIM SUMMARY REPORT SERIES NO. 07 Upper Allagash Stream, a tributary to Allagash Lake, provides habitat for wild brook trout. We conducted a biological survey of the stream in 2006, which allowed quantification of its value as fishery habitat. In addition, we determined the stream’s physical condition and sampled the fisheries population to determine species composition and abundance. Allagash Stream provides ideal brook trout habitat. Because the stream is not degraded, measurements collected during this survey may be used as a standard for other streams throughout the state and as a reference for stream restorations.
