Bristol Man Killed in Sunday Morning Snowmobile Accident

Bremen, Maine – A 24-year-old Bristol man was killed early Sunday morning when he hit an oak tree in Bremen.

Matthew Budrow, 24, was riding southbound on Medomak Road when he attempted to make a turn onto Collomere Road at approximately 3:23 a.m. He went off the left side of the road and hit the tree, according to Maine Warden Service Sgt. John Blagdon.

Mr. Budrow was riding alone and was not wearing a helmet, Sgt. Blagdon said. Mr. Budrow, who was in the area with friends, was riding back and forth on the road. “They saw him go by, but when he didn’t come back they went out to look for him,” Sgt. Blagdon said.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Bremen Fire and Rescue also responded to the accident.

There have been four fatal snowmobile accidents since Friday night and eight fatal accidents since Jan. 4.
