Calais Woman Injured in ATV Incident

A 19-year-old Calais woman was injured while riding as a passenger on an ATV in a gravel pit in Crawford, in Washington County.

Jessica Brady, 19, of Calais, was a passenger on an ATV being driven by 20-year-old Calvin Walker at approximately 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. The pair was attempting to climb vertically approximately 60 feet when the ATV flipped and rolled, according to Maine Warden Service Game Warden Joseph McBrine. The machine landed on Ms. Brady, breaking her upper leg.

Ms. Brady was taken by LifeFlight to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office assisted.

The incident is under investigation by the Maine Warden Service.
