Library Projects

Maine InfoNet looks forward to expanding and enhancing access to information resources statewide. It builds on work done by the University of Maine and University of Maine System, available through the Gateway to Digital Collections

Maine Last Copy Center
The Last Copy Center is a shared offsite storage facility designed to free valuable space in libraries across the state so libraries can have newer or more frequently-accessed materials on their shelves.
Maine Shared Collections Strategy
Maine InfoNet is one partner in a recent grant proposal to the Institute for Museum and Library Services. The other partners are the 8 largest libraries in the state of Maine: University of Maine, University of Southern Maine, Bates College, Bowdoin College, Colby College, Bangor Public Library, Maine State Library, and Portland Public Library.  The grant proposal calls for the partner libraries to create a state-wide strategy for collaboratively managing library book collections into the future.
