How To Export from OCLC CatME to MinervaOnline Transfer Set UpConfigure the online export function of your CatME software using the instructions in the "CatME for Windows Software Configuration" section near the end of page 101521 of the online manual. Minerva's IP address is 130.111.64.52. Forcing Minerva to Create Item RecordsMake sure that each bib record you edit contains a 949 "command field", plus one 949 item information field for each item record to be created. Command fields have two blank indicators and a subfield |a that begins with an asterisk. Item information fields have a blank as the first indicator and a "1" as the 2nd indicator. If your library is a more recent member of Minerva and does not have a single-character Initials designation, you will also need to add a 929 field. Examples are provided at the end of this page. Item InformationItem information is carried in a 949 field with a blank first indicator and a second indicator of "1". Correct use of indicators is essential to proper creation of item records. Create a "949 1" field for each item you wish created in Minerva, and include all the subfields below that apply. Every item information field should have at least |a Call Number, |l Shelving Location, |t Item Type, and |i Barcode..
Item Information
Note that the following elements carry over from item to item unless explicitly replaced: loc, ty, pr, sta, i2. If you are cataloging a significant number of the same type of item and wish to save typing, it may make sense to include some or all of these values in only the first record of a batch of records. Note, though, that this only works if you will be exporting the records to Minerva in a single batch. Examples
