Summary notes (MARC 520)Internet ResourcesThe following Internet resources are recommended by Minerva members as possible sources of summary information that may be used in the 520 field of bibliographic records. For brief summaries of fiction try Novelist from Marvel. This source provides succinct abstracts of most titles. Novelist K-8 is very helpful for children's items; look for the "KIDS!" logo on the Marvel page. Both www.mln.lib.ma.us (Minuteman Library Network) and http://sfpl.lib.ca.us/ were recommended as useful. For mystery series information try www.stopyourekillingme.com. For hard to find hard to find children’s items http://infohiocat.infohio.org/html/welcome.html may be useful. Subject HeadingsPrint ResourcesAmerican Library Association.
