SOLAR Software

SOLAR libraries use the DCB (Distributed Consortial Borrowing) Millennium module for tracking requesting and lending as well as cataloging. The software is for Windows machines. For other operating systems, please contact InfoNet support.

To download the most recent version of the software, please follow these directions:

To install millennium:

  1. Go to http://csdirect.iii.com/downloads/milclient_windows.shtml
  2. You will be prompted for a username and password.  This is the csdirect password and login you should have received when starting up. If you need help with the login and password, please contact support at support.maineinfoent.org.
  3. Find and download the most recent file labelled as "Preferred"
  4. Save the .exe file, find it on your computer, and double click.
  5. Follow through the installer, with ok/next/forward.
  6. When you're prompted to give the address of your server, put solar.maine.edu
  7. Keep ok-ing until you're done.
  8. You should see a new icon called "Millennium".  Use this to access the Solar software.

The first time you start Millennium, there will be lots of load screens that run--that is fine.
