  • Standards did not exist resulting in inconsistency within the Department.
  • The Intake form is being revised and modified as needed.  It is not standardized as yet.
  • The Team requests a new value stream charter and sponsor for helpdesk activity before the move to OIT.
  • A list of nine recommendations was presented:
    • Create a standard IT intake form and cost and resource analysis form.
    • Develop a standardized process of work from issue intake to go/no go decision.
    • Evaluate a web-based IT tracking system for IT customers to use.
    • Create a project scheduling methodology.
    • Process or VS Helpdesk Activity.
    • Develop Project Management Standards to guide the project from the go decision to final implementation.
    • Develop function codes to track OIP staff work and resources.
    • Identify a new process team to develop project codes to track costs and to use as a project budgeting planning tool on new development and other larger IT projects.
    • Evaluate methods necessary to measure project status and resource management for customer and internal (OIP) use (DASHBOARD).
  • Will develop a training plan to educate DOL employees on how to use the forms.
  • There are more efficiency savings than monetary savings.
  • Have approval to go ahead with recommendations.
