The Maine House of Representatives consists of 151 members (77 Republicans, 72 Democrats, one Unenrolled member, and one vacancy) plus three nonvoting members representing the Penobscot Nation, the Passamaquoddy Tribe and the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians. Each House member represents a district which had approximately 8,443 people as of the 2000 census.
