Rep. Cohen
Rep. Joan Cohen is serving her first term in the Maine State
House of Representatives. She graduated from the University of
Virginia School of Law in 1989 and practiced corporate and real estate law
for Winthrop,
Stimson, Putnam and Roberts. Joan is also former General Counsel
for Maine Medical Association and former Assistant General Counsel for the
Maine Chamber
of Commerce and Industry.
Rep. Cohen is an active community volunteer having served as a
trustee for Portland Stage Co., Family Crisis Services, Jewish
Community
Alliance, Maine Citizens Against Handgun Violence. She is also
a former president of the Lyseth Elementary School Parent Teacher
Association.
Joan has been married to her husband Jim since 1994. They have
two sons ages twelve and eight. She and her husband have lived
in Portland since 1992.
