About Rep. Eberle

Rep. Jane Eberle is serving her fourth term in the House of Representatives and her second on the Joint Standing Committee on Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

Rep. Eberle is a longtime, dedicated and involved member of the South Portland and Cape Elizabeth community. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of New Hampshire and currently serves as the South Portland School Department’s director of business partnerships. She taught exercise classes for Cape Elizabeth Community Services’ Body Dynamics program for 10 years.

Eberle has more than 24 years of experience in community activism and volunteering in schools. She chaired school improvement teams, was president of Dyer Elementary School PTA and Memorial Middle School PTA, headed high school booster groups, and organized volunteer programs at all grade levels.

She currently serves on the boards of the South Portland/Cape Elizabeth Community Chamber, the South Portland Waterfront Market Association, the Belgrade Lakes Association, the Belgrade Regional Conservation Alliance and the Greater Portland Mentoring Program. She was co-recipient of the 2003 Maine Coast Heritage Trust’s Land Heritage Award for her work as campaign co-chair for the Kennebec Highlands land acquisition project, which preserves 6,000 acres of land in central Maine.

Rep. Eberle lives with her husband, Brett, in South Portland. They have three grown children.
