Rep. Lajoie
Rep. Michel Lajoie is serving his first term in the House of
Representatives. He serves on the Criminal Justice and Public Safety
Committee.
Rep. Lajoie is a life long resident of Lewiston and graduated
from Central Maine Community College. He is the former Fire Chief
of Lewiston and has served the city in different capacities for
over 31 years. He is a former small business owner and served as
a member of the Standing Ad-Hoc Committee for the State of Maine
Bureau of Labor Standards. He was a member of the Public Safety
Commission, representing the Maine Fire Chiefs’ Association,
Maine Chiefs of Police Association, Maine Association of Police,
Professional Fire Fighters of Maine and the Maine State Federation
of Fire Fighters.
Rep. Lajoie served in the Army’s 1125th Army Hospital Unit
from 1967 to 1973. He lives in Lewiston with his wife Rita and
has three children and five grandchildren.
