About Rep. Duchesne

Rep. Duchesne is serving his fourth term in the Maine Legislature, after his decades of public service outside the Legislature. In September 2003, he retired from a 31-year career in radio, the last 17 of which were on WQCB-FM (Q-106.5) in Bangor as Eastern Maine’s #1 radio personality. In 2001 he was inducted into the Maine Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame and in 2003 entered the Country Music Disk Jockey Hall of Fame in Nashville.

During his radio career, Bob was an active leader among charity and public service organizations in the Bangor area, including stints as president of Downeast Big Brothers/ Big Sisters, Maine Audubon, and the Maine Association of Broadcasters. In addition to continued service with Maine Audubon, he is on the Board of Directors for Brewer Economic Development Corporation, the Bangor Land Trust, and the Caribou Bog-Penjajawoc Marsh Corridor Project.

Rep. Duchesne earned a degree in Government from Colby College and a Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of Maine. His experience in both business development and environmental activism has led to his serving as the House Democratic Lead member on the Joint Standing Committee on Environment and Natural Resource. He has been instrumental in creating the Maine Birding Trail to help promote Maine’s natural resources based tourist economy.

Rep. Duchesne lives with his wife, Sandi, on Pushaw Lake in Hudson.
