Town of Weld
Weld is a town in Franklin County, settled in 1800 and incorporated on February 8, 1816 from Webb's Pond Plantation, formerly township 5 AP.
Webb Lake is the main attraction to this recreational area, with Mount Blue State Park located on both sides of the lake. Spruce Mountain to the west overlooks the lake. Mount Blue itself is located in the easterly adjoining town of Avon.
The main village is located on the eastern shore of the lake, at the junction of Maine Routes 142 and 156.
