Town Office News

The Town Office will be open the first Saturday of the month, every month, between the hours of 9 thru 11 AM.

Town Office Closures:  The office will be closed on Wednesday, 23 July for employee training.

Dog licenses are due no later than December 31.  You will need to bring a valid rabies certificate and neutering papers if you are licensing for the first time.  Renewals require only a valid rabies certificate.  All dogs over six months of age must be licensed.  If not licensed by Jan 31, 08, a $15 late fee will be imposed.

Hunting and Fishing Licenses:  The 2008 hunting and fishing licenses are now available.  The complimentary, over 70 licenses are no longer available.  Instead, there is a Lifetime License available for those 70 and over for $8.00.  These may be purchesed at the Town Office.

Snowmobile Registration: There has been a change in the snowmobile registration system this year.  Instead of having the sleds keep a permanent registration number, snowmobiles will be registered in the same manner as STV's.  Two decals, which must be displayed on each side of the cowling, will be issued.  There will be no temporary registrations, all will be permanent.  The licensing fee will remain the same - $33.00

Boat Registration: The boat preprints and decals are now available in the Town Office so that all may get their boats registered before the December 31 expiration of their 2007 decals.

Automobile Registration: Beginning January 1, 2008, you will need a title to register any vehicle 1993 and newer.

Maine Residents Property Tax/Refund Program: Applications for this program are availavle in the Town Office.  Also, Working Waterfront applications are available in the Town Office.  See the Town Clerk/ Deputy Town Clerk for more info on this.

Tax bills were mailed in September.  Interest on late payments began on November 21.
