Local Project Administration

Maine Department of Transportation

Local Project Administration is a way for municipalities to get transportation projects done with a maximum of local control.  This process may also allow work to be done sooner and with less overall cost.   A Locally Administered Project (LAP) can also be combined with other municipal projects such as utilities, or roadside enhancements.  Answers to frequently asked questions can be found at this link:

What is an LAP? (pdf) (0.1mb).

LAP Tier I certification training is a one day course and is provided biennially.   An outline of 2009 training can be found at 2009 LAP Training Brochure   (0.1mb). 2009 Current LAP Certifications; Tier 1 certification can be provided on request if needed for a specific project before scheduled training in 2008.
