MAINEDOT BANGOR TRAFFIC ADVISORY FOR WEEK OF JUNE 13 - 20

IMPORTANT REMINDER: On Friday, June 13th at 9:00 PM, the Joshua Chamberlain Bridge connecting Bangor and Brewer will be CLOSED to all traffic until Thursday, June 19th at 5:00 AM. Drivers are asked to use I-395 (Veterans Remembrance) Bridge if possible. Trucks over 80,000 lbs. must use Penobscot Bridge.

We are pleased to report that the Essex Street Bridge will be reopened to all traffic by Friday evening, June 13th. It is tentatively scheduled to open at 4:00 p.m. MaineDOT thanks drivers and residents for their patience during the reconstruction of the bridge.

Milling and paving work will continue on I-95 in the southbound travel and passing lanes throughout the week. Also, evening northbound lane closures are expected, starting at Exit 180 and moving northward, for sealing of pavement cracks beginning Sunday, June 15th at 6:30 PM.

Several night-time lane and ramp closures are scheduled this week (weather permitting) as follows:

Friday, June 13

At 6:30 PM, the southbound travel lane south of Ohio Street will be closed for milling and paving.

From 8:00 - 11:00 PM, the southbound Hammond Street off-ramp will be closed for paving.

From 11:00 PM - 5:30 AM (Sat.) the southbound Hammond Street on-ramp will be closed for milling.

Saturday, June 14

At 6:30 PM milling and paving will continue in the travel lane south of Ohio Street.

From 8:00 - 11:00 PM, the southbound Hammond Street off-ramp will be closed for paving.

From 11:00 PM - 5:30 AM (Sun.) the southbound Hammond Street on-ramp #2 will be closed for milling.

Sunday, June 15

At 6:30 PM milling and paving will continue in the travel lane south of Ohio Street.

From 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM the southbound Hammond Street on-ramp #2 will be closed for paving.

From 11:00 PM - 5:30 AM (Mon) the southbound Herman off-ramp (Exit 182B) will be closed for milling.

Monday, June 16

At 6:30 AM the southbound travel lane south of Forest Ave. will be closed for crack sealing.

At 6:30 PM milling and paving will continue in the travel lane south of Hammond St.

From 8:00 PM - 5:30 AM (Tues) the southbound Herman off-ramp (Exit 182B) will be closed for milling and paving.

Tuesday, June 17

At 6:30 PM the southbound passing lane south of Hogan Road will be closed for milling and paving.

From 8:00 PM - 5:30 AM (Wed) the southbound Herman off-ramp (Exit 182B) will be closed for paving.

Wednesday, June 18

At 6:30 PM milling and paving will continue in the passing lane south of Hogan Road.

At 6:30 PM crack sealing will continue in the northbound passing lane or travel lane north of Coldbrook Road.

Thursday, June 19

At 5:00 AM the Joshua Chamberlain Bridge is scheduled to reopen.

At 6:30 PM milling and paving will continue in the passing lane south of Broadway.

At 6:30 PM crack sealing will continue in the northbound passing or travel lane north of Hammond Street.

Friday, June 20

At 6:30 PM milling and paving will continue in the passing lane south of Union Street.

At 6:30 PM crack sealing will continue in the northbound passing or travel lane north of Broadway.

 

Please continue to drive slowly and courteously through work zones and alternate routes.
