I-295 Northbound Exit 3 To briefly close at midnight Thursday

Motorists traveling on I-295 Northbound in South Portland should be aware that Exit 3 will be closed to traffic from approximately midnight on Thursday until 5 a.m., Friday, October 9 so crews can repave the on-ramp. In the case of rain, crews will postpone paving until midnight on Friday.

This work is part of a $5.3 million upgrade to this section of I-295, which will make the highway safer for motorists by adding an additional lane for entering and exiting the highway, adding a guardrail in the median, and installing a sound wall. The project is expected to continue until the beginning of December.

MaineDOT asks that motorists drive with caution and maintain the reduced speed limit while traveling.
