The Maine Department of Transportation has begun preliminary work on repaving a southbound section of Interstate 95 between Sidney and Waterville.
MaineDOT plans to repave a 12-mile section of the Interstate on the southbound side between mile marker 130 and 118. Pike Industries of Fairfield is contracted to do the job. Work began on Monday, April 14, and if the project proceeds as planned, it should be completed by September 19, 2008.
During the hours of construction, southbound traffic may be limited to one lane. During the period of April 14 to June 26, there will be lane closures for paving that will run from 5:00 a.m. Monday until 3:00 p.m. Friday. Starting June 27, lane closures will only be allowed between the nighttime hours of 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
