PAVING SET WEDNESDAY MORNING AT STANDISH INTERSECTION
The Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) will be repaving a key intersection in Standish tomorrow morning (Wednesday, August 8th), weather permitting.
“We’re going to be repaving the intersection of Routes 25 and 35 in Standish assuming the weather cooperates,” explains crew supervisor Ralph Williams. “More specifically, we’re going to be working on Route 35 as it crosses Route 25.”
“Our plans are to start work at 5:45, or quarter to six, in the morning. We anticipate it will take us about three hours to finish work in that area. We’ll do our best to keep traffic moving, but anytime you pave through an intersection, it disrupts the usual traffic flow.” Williams says.
The paving is not a major improvement project, but is part of an ongoing MaineDOT program to repave roads periodically to help keep water out of the roadway base and prevent premature deterioration.
