MaineDOT to install traffic sensor in Vassalboro
MaineDOT will temporary close travel lanes on a section of Route 201 in Vassalboro on Monday, June 23 in order to install a traffic counter. There will be alternating one-way traffic regulated by flaggers as the device is installed on Monday.
The traffic counter will be installed on Route 201 in Vassalboro one half mile north of the Webber Pond Road. The site is located just south of the intersection of Cushnoc Road and Route 201.
Crews will close the northbound lane to install sensors, and once finished on the northbound side, will close the southbound lane to install sensors. These sensors will allow MaineDOT to accurately count traffic and determine types of vehicles traveling on Route 201.
In case of rain, crews will postpone the installation until June 25.
