MAINE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

 

Description of State Maintenance Boundary Lines established for

delimiting the urban area of

 

Bath, Sagadahoc County, Maine

 

Bath

Beginning at the northern most extremity of Washington Street; thence, due east into the waters of the Kennebec River; thence southerly via said River and the Bath-Woolwich town line, crossing U.S. Route 1, to the convergence of the Bath-Woolwich- Arrowsic town lines; thence, southerly via said town line to convergence of the Bath-Phippsburg-Arrowsic town lines; thence, southwesterly via Winnegance Creek and the Phippsburg-Bath town line crossing Bridge Street (State Route 209),to the convergence of the Bath-Phippsburg-West Bath town line crossing High Street to a corner at its first westerly course;

Thence, northerly to Whiskeag Creek (Bath-West Bath town line) at the confluence of said creek and an unnamed brook; northerly via said creek, the first portion of which serves as the Bath-West Bath town line, through Leeman Highway, U.S. Route 1, Center Street, unnamed # 8, and the Old Brunswick Road to the Maine Central Railroad; thence, northeasterly to Oak Grove Avenue at its intersection with a power transmission line; thence, northeasterly to the junction of High Street and Whiskeag Road; thence, northwesterly crossing the southwestern extremity of Calvary Cemetery to a water tower; thence, northeasterly to the northernmost extremity of Washington Street, the point of beginning.

 

Note: Bridges, if any, bisected by the State Maintenance Line are in the rural area.
