delimiting the urban area of
Houlton,
Aroostook
County, Maine
Houlton
Beginning
at a point on U.S. Route 1 0.17 mile north of the intersection with
“B” Road; thence, southerly via the easterly right-of-way of U.S.
1 to the southerly right-of-way of said ramp and of I-95 eastbound
On-Ramp; thence, easterly via the southerly right-of-way of said
ramp and of I-95 crossing Meduxnekeag River to Foxcroft Road; thence,
northerly via the westerly right-of-way of Foxcroft Road to a point
1.40 miles north of the intersection of Foxcroft Road and Military
Street; thence, southerly via the easterly right-of-way of Foxcroft
Road to the southerly right-of-way of I-95;
Thence,
southeasterly to Old Foxcroft Road 0.28 mile north of Military Street
(U.S. Route 2), point of reference utility pole #201/8 east side
of road; thence, southeasterly to Military Street (U.S. Route 2)
0.25 mile east of junction of Military Street and Old Location of
U.S. Route 2, point of reference utility pole #3 south side of road;
Thence,
southwesterly to junction of Old Location of U.S. Route 2 and Old
Foxcroft Road 0.15 mile east of Military Street (U.S. Route 2);
thence southwesterly crossing Canadian Pacific Railway to Robinson
Street 0.27 mile south of Varney Avenue, point of reference utility
pole #12 west side of road;
Thence,
southwesterly crossing Pearce Brook to Court Street (U.S. Route
1) 0.40 mile south of Old Court Street, point of reference utility
pole #843 west side of road; thence, southerly via the easterly
right-of-way of Court Street (U.S. Route 1) to the Houlton-Hodgdon
town line; thence, northerly via the westerly right-of-way of Court
Street (U.S. Route 1) to utility pole #843 0.40 mile south of Old
Court Street; thence westerly to a point on Bangor Street (U.S.
Route 2a) 0.82 mile southwest of Hogan Street, point of reference
utility pole #62 west side of road;
Thence,
due west into Meduxnekeag River; thence northerly via said river
crossing an unnamed brook to the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad;
thence, northerly to the junction of Bryson Street and Dump road
(connection between Bryson and Bridge Streets);
Thence,
northwesterly to a culvert on Smyrna Street (U.S. Route 2) 0.27
mile west of B Stream; thence, northwesterly crossing B Stream and
Bangor and Aroostook Railroad to North Street (U.S. Route 1) at
a point 0.29 mile north of Putnam Avenue #2;
Thence,
northerly via the westerly right-of-way of U.S. Route 1 to a point
0.17 mile north of the intersection with “B” Road, the point of
beginning.
Note:
Bridges, in any, bisected by the State Maintenance Line are in the
rural area.
