MAINE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

 

Description of State Maintenance Boundary Lines established for

delimiting the urban area of

 

Rockland, Knox County, Maine

 

Rockland

 

Beginning at a point on the Rockland-Rockport town line 0.03 mile southeasterly of Old County Road; thence, southeasterly via said town line crossing Camden Street (U.S. Route 1) into the waters of Rockland Harbor; thence, southwesterly in said waters to the Rockland-Owl's Head town line; thence, southwesterly via said town line to a point 0.30 mile southeast of a point on Thomaston Street 0.35 mile west of Broadway, point of reference utility pole #25; thence, northwesterly to said point; thence westerly to the Rockland-Thomaston town line at the Maine Central Railroad; thence, northerly and northwesterly along said town line to New County Road (U.S. Route 1); thence, northerly and northwesterly via said town line to the intersection of Pleasant Street and Dump Road; thence, northeasterly to the intersection of Old Country Road and Thompson Road; thence, northeasterly via the northwesterly right-of-way of Old Country Road crossing Maverick Street (U.S. Route 1A) to the intersection of Old Country Road and Lakeview Terrace Road; thence, northeasterly to a point on the Rockland-Rockport town line 0.03 mile southeasterly of Old County Road, the point of beginning.

 

NOTE: Bridges, if any, bisected by the compact-urban boundary line are in the rural area.
