Bridge Management
Determine strategies for the repair, rehabilitation and replacement
of Maine's bridge network. Ensure that the Department has the best
available information regarding the condition and performance of
the bridge system.
Pavement Management
Optimize the use of available funds by continually monitoring and
evaluating the condition of Maine's roads, recommending maintenance
and capital improvement strategies, and reporting on their effectiveness
to enhance Maine's infrastructure.
Safety Management
Provide an ongoing, systematic, and comprehensive approach to reduce
the frequency and severity of crashes on Maine's transportation
system, including the development of the safety portions of the
MDOT capital improvement program and other transportation safety
programs, and work with others to promote safe transportation in
Maine.
Transportation Analysis
Evaluate the use and performance of the transportation system through
the use of travel forecasting and traffic analysis.
Transportation Reporting, Inventory,
& Mapping
Collect, process, maintain, and distribute transportation information
and generate products that meet customer needs and support informed
decision-making.
