>Draft Environmental Impact Statement
Draft Environmental Impact StatementThe Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is an exhaustive identification and assessment of all resources, natural and man-made, along the proposed bypass route. It includes a review of wetlands, endangered species, wildlife habitat, historic grounds and structures, archaeology and terrain. The study also looks at the impact on public safety and the local area economy. The Draft EIS (DEIS) is available in regional town offices and libraries. It is also available in PDF format on this web site. The Public Comment period on the DEIS started on October 26, and ended December 21, 2007. We hope a final EIS, which will be completed after the Army Corps LEDPA is received and includes a final decision, will be available by fall of 2008. If you have questions, please call Carol Morris at 207-329-6502.
