Attribute Accuracy Report
Attribute accuracy is tested by manual comparison of the source with hard copy printouts and/or symbolized display of digital files. Please report errors to the planning division of the Maine Land Use Regulation Commission.

Logical Consistency Report
ZONES_POLY contains various types of protection and development zones. Protection zone polygons do overlap with each other to portray permitted land use. Protection zone polygons do not overlap with development zone polygons.

Completeness Report
ZONES_POLY polygons cover all the unorganized territories of Maine within LURC's jurisdiction. Dataset is expected to be complete in September 2005.

Process Step
Process Description
ZONES_POLY was created initially by researching the permanent and interim public hearing hard copy zoning notes for each town for the explanation of the zones creation. Zone boundaries were hand drafted then digitized from the official 15' mylar land use guidance maps onto the draft mylar 7.5' base map. Process for all zoning map adoption began Feb. 1997 and continues to present. The process includes review and editing by the planning division of the Land Use Regulation Commission. Regular public meetings and hearings are followed by a comment and rebuttal period before official adoption of the map per the board of LURC Commissioners. The map becomes effective fifteen days after adoption.
