Training Announcement: Emergency Exercise Design (G139)

The Maine Emergency Management Agency will be conducting a training seminar for Emergency Exercise Design and Evaluation (G139) February 27th and 28th in Hampden, Maine.
Emergency managers, emergency services personnel, and individuals who are part of the emergency preparedness and response in communities need to be able to use the fundamentals of exercise simulation and design as an integrated system of resources and capabilities. Skills learned during this program will enable jurisdictions to conduct NIMS-required exercises for compliance.
This course is part of the Maine Basic Emergency Manager Recognition Level II program. Completion of the FEMA online Independent Study Course IS 139 Exercise Design Course is a prerequisite for attendance.
The course will develop exercising skills in the following areas:
The course will conclude with students conducting and evaluating actual Functional Exercises in a group/team environment.
State, county and local emergency management officials having direct responsibility for developing and conducting exercises are eligible to attend. It is encouraged that regional teams working in the Homeland Security Emergency Exercise Program also attend the course.
Jeremy Damren and Mike Grant of MEMA will serve as primary instructors.
The course will be held at the Town of Hampden Public Safety facility located at 106 Western Avenue in Hampden, Maine (see map).
Classes will run from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Lunch and breaks will be provided; lodging is available upon qualification please contact MEMA training for prior approval. All other expenses are the responsibility of the student. We are an equal opportunity educational provider.
