Training Announcement: Recovery from Disaster/Local Government Role (G270.4)

The Waldo, Hancock, Knox and Penobscot County Emergency Management Agencies will be conducting the FEMA training program Recovery from Disaster: The Local Government Role (G270.4), Tuesday and Wednesday, October 1 and 2, in Belfast.

This 2-day course will increase local government awareness of issues involved in disaster recovery, provide a forum for discussion of “lessons learned” in disaster recovery at the local level and promote the development of a pre-disaster recovery plan.

Target Audience:

The Target Audience includes:

  • Local elected official (Selectperson, Councilor, Commissioner, etc)
  • County/City/Town Manager/Administrator
  • Finance Director/Treasurer/Assessor
  • Emergency Manager/Staff
  • Public Safety Director/Chief/Staff
  • Public Works Director/Road Commissioner
  • Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer
  • Community Planner/Staff
  • Health Care Administrator or Planner
  • Voluntary Agency Coordinator or Social Service Director

There are no prerequisites for this class. County EMA Directors will conduct the program.

Course Location:

The course will be held at the Waldo County EOC located at 4 Public Safety Way in Belfast, Maine.

Lunch and breaks will be provided. All other expenses are the responsibility of the student. Class will run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
