Warmth comes in layers

When you are dressing for outdoor warmth in the winter, think "layers". Air gets trapped in between your garments and helps keep you warm. If you are exercising outside (whether it's cross-country skiing or splitting wood), you can take off a layer, and then put it back on when you start to cool down. Layers also work indoors -- think how great that extra blanket feels on a chilly night.
