July 24 - 26, 2012
This year's poster sessions are provided to allow you a break from your cohort. It's an opportunity to get a quick fix on a new and different topic. The poster sessions are one hour in length and the choice is yours. The poster session selections will be updated as we finalize them.
Engage Students in Meaningful Authentic Learning Experiences with QR Codes
Facilitated by: Lisa Hogan, Mt. Ararat Middle School & Mt. Ararat High School
Does your community have historic landmarks, nature trails, and / or community events that are often overlooked? Could your students help younger students explore library books? They certainly can using quick response codes, iMovie, and Garageband. Quick response codes consist of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. Scanning a quick response code using a quick response code app on a mobile device will display text or open a web page. Learn about engaging your students in meaningful research and communication with community members and experts while acquiring skills in planning, collaboration, and problem solving as they design and produce videos or podcasts about the historic landmarks, interpretive trails, community events, book reviews and more.
