Information Commons IconAdd an Information Commons shortcut

Putting a shortcut icon on your device's home screen allows you to quickly access a web page - similar to an icon for an app.(application) The directions below are for an iPhone or iPad with directions for an Android at the bottom of this page.

iPhones/iPads

1. Click on the arrow at the top of the Information Commons web page to start the process of placing an icon on the home screen of your device.

2. Choose "Add to Home Screen".

3. Give the icon (1) a short name (2) so it easily shows on your device's home screen. Click "Add". (3)Name your icon with a short name

Android Phones

  • Visit the page you wish to add to a home screen; click the icon to bookmark in the top right corner.
  • Long-press on the bookmark to bring up “Add shortcut to Home” menu. Don't worry if it says no room - it will add it to another home screen.
  • Name the icon – keep it short so the name shows - use just "Commons".
