Continuing Education Stipends from Northeastern Maine and Central Maine Library Districts

The Northeastern Maine and Central Maine Library Districts offer stipends to help defray the costs of attending continuing education events. Preference will be given to librarians from libraries with an operating budget less than $25,000. 

The two districts and the CMLD Association have pooled resources to offer 16 $50 stipends. Eight stipends will be awarded in both spring and fall- 4 in each district. A committee made up of the district consultants and the chairs of the district executive boards will judge the applications.

  • Deadline for Spring CE events is December 31.
  • Deadline for Fall events is June 15.
  • Awards will be announced two weeks after the application deadlines.

Criteria for receiving a stipend

  • Need
  • The event must be library related, either on library administration, programs, services or technology
  • Completeness and appropriateness of the application

  1. You will receive a copy of your submitted application by email. You will be noftified once the committee makes their decision for the two awards (2 in the Fall; 2 in the spring).
