Challenge for June

by Lester Dickey

Since so many have complained the Challenge has become too easy, I have added a second part. Correctly answering he first question will qualify you for the drawing, whether or not you answer the second, hopefully more difficult, question. All you get for the harder question is the satisfaction of knowing you could figure it out.

If AxB=24, CxD=32, BxD=48, and BxC=24

Question #1: What does AxBxCxD=?

Question #2: What does B=?

Please e-mail Lester Dickey with your answer and your name, phone number, and the organization for which you work. Or call Barbara Buck at 624-9501. The winner will be drawn from all the correct entries and will receive a FREE pizza from Spanky's Pizza. All answers must be in no later than the 14th of the month.

Last month's challenge brought 23 answers, all of them substantially correct. The winner, chosen by random drawing, is Michael St. John of the Department of Human Services.

The answer to the May Challenge is: They would not know it was the "First" Bull Run until the "Second" battle was fought, long after the sword was supposedly inscribed.
