Do you have a story to tell? Share memories of growing up in Maine, your family history in Maine, or a story of how Maine has changed over the years by posting it in the Facts and History section on the State of Maine Website, http://www.maine.gov. Become part of the on-line Maine community while educating others about "real" Maine history!
How do you submit a story to be published on the web? Its easy! All you have to do is visit www.maine.gov; go to the "Maine.gov and You" category on the homepage and click on the link "Read/Submit Maine history stories." Your story must pertain to one of these current topics:
Summer Fun:
Blueberry pies, picnics, swimming, fishing . How did you spend your Maine summers?
Maine Towns:
How has your town changed over the years? Do you have any favorite memories of your town in the "old days?" What were your special places or favorite shops?
Wartime Experience:
World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam, The Gulf War Tell us about your experience in the service or at home in Maine.
Family Histories:
Have you researched your Maine ancestors? Have you connected with a distant relative? Be sure to include dates and towns or the county where they lived.
Stories that are submitted will be placed as a link, by title, under the appropriate topic after being reviewed for content. More story topics will be added over the next few months. Do you have a suggestion for more topics that you would like to see listed? Tell us about them!
