Maine law requires rate filings on individual health insurance policies – 24-A M.R.S.A. §2736(1)
Anthem requested a rate increase for its HealthChoice, HealthChoice Standard and Basic, and Lumenos Consumer Directed Health Plan products and public hearings were scheduled. Bureau of Insurance to Hold Hearings on Anthem’s Requested Rate Increase for HealthChoice and Lumenos Products

On August 21, 2009, Anthem filed an appeal in the Maine Superior Court.
On Sept. 23, 2009, the Superintendent filed a response to the appeal.
