SUPERINTENDENT TO ISSUE DECISION ON PROPOSED BLUE CROSS/ANTHEM CONVERSION AND ACQUISITION

AUGUSTA - Superintendent of Insurance Alessandro A. Iuppa has scheduled a press conference at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 25th in the Central Conference Room at the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation, 124 Northern Avenue, Gardiner. He is expected to announce his decisions on the proposed conversion of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Maine to a for-profit entity, the proposed acquisition by Anthem Insurance Companies, Inc. of Indiana of the assets and liabilities of Blue Cross, and the funding of the Maine Health Access Foundation. The room will be available for media set up at 2:15 p.m.
