Pursuant to the Superintendent’s Protective Order of October, 19,, 1999, Applicants request confidential treatment for limited portions of the Comparative Premium Rate Analysis filed on November 4, 1999.

The information for which confidential treatment is sought are the following:

The information summarized in this table reflects proprietary business projections of, respectively, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maine and Anthem Insurance Companies that were supplied to Milliman & Robertson on a confidential basis for purposes of the latter’s analysis of comparative premium rates. This information is self-evidently proprietary and competitively sensitive, as from it a competitor could obtain valuable information about BCBSME’s or Anthem BCBSME’s future business plans and activities.

Accordingly, BCBSME request confidential treatment for this information.
