Consolidated Docket No. INS 99-14 )

Now Come Consumers for Affordable Health Care Coalition, by and through its counsel, in response to the Superintendent’s letter dated November 15, 1999 regarding filing requirements under 24-A MRSA §§4203-4204, and state as follows:

  1. CAHC understands that Applicants would like to avoid the need to make a separate filing under 24-A MRSA §§4203 – 4204;
  2. CAHC believes that it may be more efficient to do so and could agree to Applicants’ request if the following conditions are met:
    1. Applicants agree that all of the information required under 24-A MRSA §§4203 and 4204 has been or will be provided to the Superintendent and the parties in current or future filings that meet timelines established by order or statute;
    2. Applicants agree to provide an index as to where each of the separate items identified in §§4203 – 4204 are located within any filing by volume, page number, appendix or any other indicator of location necessary for ease of identification and location;
    3. Applicants agree that no opportunity to obtain, review or examine the information required under §§4203 and 4204 will be lost to the Superintendent or any party to this transaction;
  3. CAHC supports the Maine Medical Association’s Motion to Amend the Notice of Hearing regarding the standard of review to the extent consistent with the above mentioned conditions;
  4. To the extent it would be helpful to gain further understanding of the Applicants’ request pertaining to this issue, that it be included as an agenda item for a Friday meeting.

Respectfully submitted,
