Notice Regarging Tax-Deductibility of Contributions

All Charitable Organizations licensed in Maine are “tax-exempt.” Tax-exempt status means that these organizations are not required to pay taxes on the contributions made to them.

It does not mean that the contribution you make is tax-deductible on your own income taxes.

Your contribution may, or may not, be tax-deductible.

You are encouraged to obtain written confirmation, from the Charitable Organization, of the tax-deductibility of your contribution prior to claiming it as a deduction on your own income tax form.
