Minutes of December 7, 2005 Public Board Meeting

Members Present:

  • Cecilia Ohmart, Chair
  • Marianne Stevens. Complaint Officer
  • Robert Bender

Others Present:

  • Penny Vaillancourt, Board Administrator
  • Diane Bradstreet, Board Clerk

Members Absent:

  1. CALL TO ORDER

    Cecilia Ohmart, Chair, called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

  2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

    In a motion by Marianne Stevens, seconded by Robert Bender, the Board voted unanimously to approve the minutes from the August 12, 2005 meeting as written.

  3. APPROVAL OF APPLICATIONS

    In a motion by Robert Bender, seconded by Marianne Stevens, the board voted unanimously to approve the following licenses issued since the August 12, 2005 meeting:

    Heather Gail Barton-Lindloff, Temporary Dietitian
    Krista L. Connor, Temporary Dietitian
    Leann M. Crowell, Dietitian
    Brooke Gowdy-Johnson, Temporary Dietitian
    Faith A. Harris, Dietetic Technician
    Diane K. Jones, Dietitian

    Amanda J. Vdoviak, Dietitian

  4. APPROVAL OF NEW APPLICATIONS

    Krista L. Niezelski - In a motion by Robert Bender, seconded by Marianne Stevens, the board voted unanimously to approve Ms. Niezelski’s application for licensure as a Temporary Dietitian. 

    Jennifer E. Wilson - In a motion by Marianne Stevens, seconded by Robert Bender, the board voted unanimously to approve Ms. Wilson’s application for licensure as a Temporary Dietitian.

  5. REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF TEMPORARY LICENSE

    Reviewed was a request from Leah Girard for an extension of her Temporary Dietetic Technician’s license.  Ms. Girard’s license is due to expire on December 30, 2005.  In a motion by Robert Bender, seconded by Marianne Stevens, the board voted unanimously to approve Ms. Girard’s request due to hardship.

  6. REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF TIME TO COMPLETE CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    Reviewed was a letter from Kim Norbert, a licensed dietitian, requesting an extension of time in which to complete her continuing education credits for the renewal of her license. 

    In a motion by Robert Bender, seconded by Marianne Stevens, the board voted unanimously to grant Ms. Norbert an extension until December 31, 2005.

  7. DISCUSSION REGARDING RULEMAKING

    Discussed was the rulemaking process.  A rules committee consisting of Penny Vaillancourt; Jeffrey Frankel, OLR Staff Attorney and Cecilia Ohmart will review the current rules and draft a proposal for the entire board’s review.

  8. ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT – PENNY VAILLANCOURT

    Ms. Vaillancourt gave an update on the board’s financial status and on the number of licensees.

  9. ADJOURNMENT

    There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
